Roasted banana sticks with cinnamon
A finger-food dessert: in the oven, banana gets sweeter and softer, almost like a fruit candy, with no sugar at all. The long sticks are just the right size for your baby to hold.

Makes 2 servings
Ingredients
- 1 ripe banana, with a speckled peel
- 1 pinch ground cinnamon (optional, no sugar)
How to make
- 1Preheat the oven to 400 °F and line a small baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2Peel the banana, cut it in half crosswise, then cut each half in half lengthwise. You get 4 sticks.
- 3Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until soft and golden at the edges.
- 4Sprinkle with cinnamon and let it cool to warm before serving.
Tips
- Texture (9–11 months): the stick should mash easily between your thumb and index finger.
- Cut lengthwise: banana coins are round and slippery. Long sticks are safer.
- Watch the heat: roasted banana holds heat inside. Break one stick open and check.
- Always together: your baby eats sitting up, with an adult nearby and no distractions.
- Storage: best fresh. In the fridge, it keeps for 1 day in a closed container.
