Ingredients
- 1 medium apple
- 3 pitted prunes (no syrup, no added sugar)
- ½ cup water
How to make
- 1Wash, peel and dice the apple, removing the seeds. Chop the prunes.
- 2In a small saucepan, add the apple, prunes and water. Cover and cook over low heat for about 12 minutes, until the apple is very soft.
- 3Mash with a fork, leaving soft little pieces. Let it cool to lukewarm before serving.
Tips
- Texture (7–8 months): coarsely mashed, with soft little pieces of apple and prune. No blender.
- The right prunes: read the label. Only plain dried plums, with no sugar, syrup or glaze.
- Constipation: prunes help, but start small (2 or 3) so they don't loosen things too much.
- To vary: swap the apple for pear, or spoon it over oatmeal.
- Storage: fridge for up to 2 days, or freezer for up to 1 month, in portions.
